Ta emererī sullī sariqinuus, irxárábikzoenkos.

(When) we become silent about big things, our lives begin to end.

  • Emer (n, masc) - Thing
  • R-zo (v, c1) - To end
  • S-riqini (v, c2) - To become silent
  • Sul (adj) - Big
  • Ta (prep) - Concerning, about, with
  • Xár (n, masc) - life

Kimandi has SOV word order.

Kimandi nouns decline for number, case, and possession. For plurality, one normally duplicates the first vowel of the word. Here are masculine nouns in the different cases:

  • Agentive: -Ø
  • Patientive: -k
  • Dative: -rī
  • Additive: -me

Here are the possessive endings:

  • 1sg: -(a)n
  • 2sg: -(a)s
  • 3sg: -(a)mmu
  • 1sg: -(a)bi
  • 2sg: -(a)si
  • 3sg: -(a)maa

As one can “stack” different declensions on, nouns have the order of:

N (noun) - Plurality - Poss - Case

If added to a word ending in a consonant, cases have a tendency to assimilate to the word’s final consonant.

While it does not have polypersonal agreement, transitive verbs do exhibit incorporation of the object.

Verbs in Kimadi conjugate for TAM (tense-aspect-mood), Person, and plurality. Like nouns, verbs have a set order in which you can apply affixes to them.

Tense - Stem1 - Obj - Stem 2 - Aspect - Mood - Person - Plurality

Kimandi verbs only have 2 tenses, those being future and nonfuture. Here are the affixes:

  • Future: Ø
  • Nonfuture: i-

As you can see, a verb in Kimandi has 2 stems. The first is normally a consonant or a syllable, and the 2nd is a syllable or more. Within the 2 stems you place the object if there is one. If not, you insert -a- if the verb is transitive, and -e- if the verb is intransitive. From there, you add in aspects:

  • Perfect: -mu-
  • Imperfect: -Ø-
  • Progressive: -le-
  • Inceptive: -enk-

Mood:

  • Indicative: -Ø-
  • Imperative: -s-
  • Conditional: -an-

Person:

  • 1st: -o-
  • 2nd: -en-
  • 3rd: -uu-

Number:

  • Singular: Ø
  • Plural: -s
